Manitoba is without a doubt one of the most perfect outdoor destinations for avid sportsmen and women. Home to the huge boreal forest in its center, a tundra-flanked ocean coastline to its north, and vast prairies to the south, there’s truly something for everyone here. When it comes to world-class angling, look no further than Manitoba. This province boasts over 100,000 lakes, each offering serious potential for trophy walleye, northern pike, brook trout and/or lake trout on every cast.

When it comes to hunting, there are few areas in the world that rival Manitoba. Offering some of the North America’s premier outdoor game opportunities for hunting trophy moose, caribou and whitetail deer, it’s an area that any avid hunter can appreciate. Along with vast population of trophy game and fish that can be seen in this province’s diverse landscape, it isn’t uncommon for adventurers of this region to view Polar bears and Beluga whales when the time is right.

Located due-north of Minnesota, it isn’t a mystery why Manitoba lures anglers and hunters from all over the U.S. to its pristine wilderness. One of the top attractions to this region is the fact that Manitoba offers some of the best moose hunting in Canada to those seeking a trophy bull. Equally as luring are Manitoba’s world-class waterfowl hunting in the Lake Winnipeg basin, and goose hunting in the northern tundra. Regardless of what you are targeting on your next trip, it’s guaranteed that Manitoba will not disappoint.

This province was also an early leader in the concept of Catch and Release. In fact, its Master Angler program recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Master Angler program rewards anglers for catching trophy-sized fish. In keeping with Manitobans’ desire to preserve their natural habitats for future generations, nearly 90% of Master Angler-sized fish were caught and then released back to the wild. With that being said, the potential for catching a truly trophy sized fish skyrockets the second you cross the border into Manitoba.

Northern Manitoba is an unspoiled gem and home to many world-class fishing lodges. Famous lakes like God’s, Nueltin, Nejanilini, Big Sand and Kississing are just the tip of the iceberg of what Manitoba has to offer anglers seeking their next adventure.
